Recently, one of my couples asked me a handful of questions. I am happy to share the answers with you.
How did you become a wedding celebrant?
Throughout my career, in both professional and voluntary settings, I have given many speeches and have been deeply involved in church activities. People from various backgrounds have told me that my speeches have touched them personally. After studying in Germany and the USA (Master in Philosophy, Intercultural Studies, Theology NCIU, Florida), I realized that my experiences, skills, and passions all led me to become a wedding and public speaker.
At my first wedding in May 2008, I felt a profound sense of professional fulfillment during the first official speech. Despite having given countless speeches before, this marked the beginning of a new chapter for me. Since then, my profession has become my calling.
Three years later, I founded the first academy for wedding officiants in Germany, training many successful officiants. I provide intensive guidance and training, helping them successfully transition into the role of a wedding officiant. Nearly every day, I coach experienced officiants in Franconia and throughout southern Germany on how to make their speeches even better, more personal, sensitive, and appreciative.
What keeps you motivated to be a wedding officiant/free wedding celebrant even after over 10 years?
I love getting to know two special people and discovering with them that every story and every wedding is truly unique. Writing a speech that is not only personal but also unique is a significant and responsible task. Giving 100 percent every time for the next couple and expressing that in the creation of the wedding speech and ceremony is both creative and exciting.
